I Will Fight No More Forever
“I am tired of fighting” Chief Joseph said. I think he should be consoled. “My chiefs are killed”. “All of the men are DEAD”. He is old and tired of fighting. His people are freezing to death, the children don’t have blankets. People are running away because they don’t want to fight. “My heart is sick and sad”, you can clearly see he doesn’t want to fight anymore. Here are some words that prove it, “Hear me, my chiefs. I am tired. My heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever.” He tried to lead 800 people to Canada, they were trapped just forty miles from Canada for these reasons I think Chief Joseph should be consoled.
